Ride Along and Support the Rescue Museum

On Sunday, July 27, 2025, Rotary Den Helder – Julianadorp is organizing the Bike and Rescue Tour: a unique cycling tour of approximately 30 kilometers through historic Den Helder. Ride along and support both the K.N.R.M. and the National Rescue Museum!

During the tour, you’ll discover the maritime history of Den Helder. In 1811, Napoleon recognized the strategic value of this coastal town and had impressive forts and a shipyard built here. You'll cycle past these historic sites, pass modern naval vessels, and enjoy the atmosphere at cozy terraces along the way.

One of the highlights is a visit to the active lifeboat Joke Dijkstra in the Naval Harbour. In addition, every participant receives free admission to the National Rescue Museum.

All proceeds from the Bike and Rescue Tour go directly to the K.N.R.M. and the National Rescue Museum, both of which rely heavily on the efforts of volunteers and donations. By joining the ride, you’re supporting rescue work from both the past and the present!
