New scale models and video from the Coast Guard

The National Rescue Museum has received a special addition to its collection from the Dutch Coast Guard: two scale models and a new video about the work of the Coast Guard. To celebrate its 39th anniversary, the Coast Guard decided to surprise the museum with this new addition. This makes the story of the Coast Guard even more visible to museum visitors.

Those who have visited the Lifeguard Museum before know that the old Coast Guard control room table is on display here. The accompanying video has been completely updated. It clearly explains what the Coast Guard does and why it is so important.

Our director, Leo Kapiteijn, accepted the models and the video from Nicole Kuipers, director of the Dutch Coast Guard. One scale model is of the Coast Guard aircraft that now flies daily over the North Sea: the Dash 8-106. The other scale model is of the Dornier 228, the former Coast Guard aircraft. With these models, visitors to the museum can see how aviation also plays a role in rescue operations and maritime surveillance.

With these new additions, there's even more to see and experience at the National Rescue Museum. Come see the scale models and discover how the Coast Guard monitors safety on the North Sea day and night in the updated video!
